Question #1:
What am I doing wrong with this code?
When you select the button that says "Browser", it makes a prompt come up that says "What's your browser". I want an alert box to come up with the information about that browser when you enter the name of it into the prompt. How do I do that? Because when I enter in the name, the prompt box just goes away when I select "OK".<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" " Click Here ;

Question #2:
What will the haters of victims of Katrina say if Hurricane Earl wipes out parts of N.C.?
And as many people die there that died in New Orleans? Will they say "oh too bad, they should have left before the hurricane came" like they said about the victims of Katrina? Many people in N.C. and other places where Earl is said to be paying them a visit, are saying that they're not leaving. They're at the Home Depot and other places buying generators and flashlights and batteries etc, and are going to ride it out dead or alive. Dummies in N.J. said on the news that they're looking forward to Earl. Like the dummy surfers who can't wait to ride the waves, and even older people said that they are "ready for Earl". And this is a "category 4 hurricane". Wow."Who" you ask? Many of the racist idiots right here have that's who. Saying that those poor (mostly Black Americans) in the lower wards "should have heeded the warnings and got out". Most of them had nowhere to go to just like people in other parts of the country White and Black etc. And people (even the government) underestimated Katrina, and didn't think she'd be that fierce and tough. But as you say, you should NEVER underestimate a hurricane or a tornadao or anything that Mother Nature will win against man. Man can't touch Mother Nature, but he's always trying to beat her.

Question #4:
Is there a collective stream of consciousness that can be measured?
I have been keeping tabs on the work being done at Princeton University for some time now. There is a program they have called "The Global Consciousness Project". It is really quite fascinating and delves into the possibility that human (maybe animals too) can be measured. One example of this is that right before the planes hit the twin towers on September 11th 2001, their random numbers generator spiked, What was the cause for this? Do you think that consciousness can be measured? If so , what are the implications for this? Do you think that there is a stream of consciousness that we are all a part of or can tap in to ?Click Here

Question #7:
How do you measure the current of a generator (with a multimeter)?
I have a computer cooler fan, which I am using as a generator as part of a school experiment.I'm trying to find the amount of power it can generate by using a hairdryer to move the blades of the fan.
I know that voltage x current equals power and my problem is that I can't get the (digital ) multimeter to measure current properly!
I've tried moving the red lead of the multimeter to the other terminal and it made no difference
Also, is it possible to measure the resistance of the fan? (seeing that current= voltage/resistance)

Question #12:
Is it just me or is integrating an electromagnetic generator into a helicopter's rotor system a great idea?
Think about it: have a controlled magnetic field in the region of the spinning helicopter blades, and have the blades or some part of the spinning apparatus be a magnetic material. The constant rotation in the field will supply a potential difference - free electricity for the helicopter. Now I'm not sure of the logistics or anything, but isn't the concept definitely something to think about?

Question #15:
Where can I find a good Audio/tone generator?
Hi, I was wondering if there was something like a sound generator online that could create different tones to then be used as background music for a short film. I'm looking for something that could create something like this:Click Here
Not the part after the D-d-d-d sound, but something like the first few 30 seconds of the film; i understand that after that, I'd have to get really expensive software, right?
If there's anything like that that i can download online, preferably for free, please let me know. Or if there's not, what can i do to make that kind of music? Just simple tones pieced together to make background music is what I'm looking for.
Question #16:
Electric Power Engineer. Help!? kW Consumption?
We are operating a Central Utility Building, composed of chillers, pumps, and cooling tower. However during Emergency Grid (using Generators), Upon operation of the equipments, the kW consumption on the LVSG seems lower compared to the equipment motor ratings. During one simulation, the kW consumption of the equipments is 677 kW, whereas the chiller is indicating that it is operating at 90% part load (on chiller monitor screen), equivalent to total of 905 kW (all equipments including pumps and cooling towers running at 90% part load). In my tabulation of cumulative consumption, the chiller equivalent operating condition to the 677 kW is at 50% part load; pumps and cooling tower at 90%.
Why is that? Can anyone explain this phenomenon?
Presumably the chiller start up current is not reached, could it be the reason on lower kW consumption on LVSG compared to part load consumption on Chiller Monitor Screen?
What are other reason why motor rating, though the screen indicates it is operating at 90%, is operating at lower condition on the LSG?
HELP!!
Ok to simplify :
During Emergency Grid
- Low voltage switch gear monitored kW all equip. consumption = 677 kW
- Total consumption on Chiller and equipments as per rated motor power (chiller operating condition @90% ) by calculation = 905 kW
- Equivalent running condition to be near 677 kW as per LVSG is chiller running @ 50%, by calculation per motor rating.
- pumps and cooling tower running at constant ratings throughout, chiller does not. Chiller is 410 kW and can run on part load.
- Voltage is 465V and not dipping as per report
Of the 905 kW calculated total equipment motor load, 50% is consumed by pump, 10% is cooling tower, 40% is chiller.
pump = ~452 kW,
cooling tower = ~90.5 kW,
chiller = ~ 369 kW, (or 90% part load of 410 kW chiller motor rating which is showing on the chiller screen)
However
The actual kW consumption according to the LVSG is 677 kW, assume pumps and cooling tower operate at constant kW, at chiller 50% partload = 205 kW (or 50% of chiller 410 kW rating). Total kW is 748 kW, which is closest to 677 kW.
Can anyone help me understand this discrepancy
Question #17:
Christians and theists, I believe I have a method to prove God exists?
Below are ten hashes made using the SHA-256 algorithm on ten strings. They were made using the following website: Click HereI would like to see if God can tell you what those ten strings are. The hash values are here to prevent any cheating-if the strings God tells you match the hashes, anyone at all can verify that the match is made. I can't "change the goalposts", since you've got the hashes.
Time starts from when I post the question, and is up when I select a best answer (so you've got at least 4 hours, which should be plenty of time for an all-knowing God, I presume?). Before selecting a best answer, I will post the ten strings I used, so you can verify that the hash values I post are real ones.

@Satan: Oh come on, surely the creator of the whole universe can reverse-engineer a little hash algorithm? Can't be too hard, right? Besides, couldn't he have just looked over my shoulder while I typed the strings out?
@Elyon, I am not kidding at all. I did use ten real strings to make those hashes, and if you really can figure out what they are, the chances of you doing that by chance or brute force are vanishingly slim. I'd be very willing to consider something whispered in your ear in that case.

Question #18:
1969 VW bug in shop.?
. The mechanic said I need to replace the generator and the voltage regulator. How much do you think it will cost for parts and labor. I live in California.Question #19:
I'd like to become more useful...?
Hello. Apologies for the length of this in advance.I've recently become a fan of the show "The Colony" on The Discovery Channel. After watching several episodes, I've become disparaged as to what my own usefulness would be in such a situation. If you don't know, The Colony takes a sample of people and puts them together into a situation which attempts to simulate what an apocalyptic event would be like. In other words, they have no electricity, amenities, tools, etc. They attempt to survive by putting together shelter, establishing order, guarding against looters, etc.
I've been reading discussion groups on this with people stating various things they would do which range, from killing people and looting strangers, to rebuilding society. I however, am not sure what I would do.
I'm not a completely pampered city boy; I live out in the country and I've built small standing buildings like sheds and such with my dad, but I've only been the sort of mindless builder, cutting wood, and nailing whatever I'm told to do. I have no skill for designing or engineering of the sort, my interest in life has been in arts and literature. The show includes people like contractors, engineers, mechanics, etc. I am amazed by the skills these people possess, and wish I had the same sort of qualities. Unfortunately, I can't even change oil (not that I've ever had need to though, I don't drive or have a car).
I love the show, but watching it always leaves wishing I knew the survival skills they display. They hunt, they design and build shelters with defenses against intruders, they even create rudimentary technology like light systems, am transmitters, and generators, all from spare parts.
I was wondering what the best way would be to go around learning these awesome skills. I'm going to be senior this year in high school, so hopefully there is still a lot of time for me to learn.
I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.
Also, I feel I should mention that i'm thinking of going the medical route in my career life, because of this very problem. I feel that medicine is an important skill, but i'd like to become useful in other ways as well.
Question #20:
I need satisfaction twenty characters long?
would some kind person please coment on what I said. Click HereSo you are saying that we may be all part of the same brain. I didn't really understand the last 1/4 of what you said. But sure I guess something like that is possible. I believe that some paranormal things like remote viewing or sensing when another person is looking at you or thinking about you is possible. I think most people have experienced this type of thing. Sure, some people think this stuff happens to them all the time about the most mundane things and so they sort of spam the conversation with junk. But even they probably have the same experiences we all occasionally do.
When I was a kid I could close my eyes and pick an m&m out of a bowl and often guess the color. When I fell in love I had this very weird experience of being transported to where the girl was for a split second (in my mind). I have had many experiences of sensing someone was looking at me and then turning my head to see that they were and vice versa with them seeing me. I think I might have had premonitions of knowing when a person would have a very bad effect on my life. I've had experiences where I hadn't thought of a person for months and then out of the blue I thought of them and they called me like 5 second later. I've had similar weird experiences where I had not thought of a word in forever and all of a sudden I think of it and then a few seconds later I see it somewhere. Yet another similar example is when you hear a word on TV or radio and then at the same time you see/hear/think the word someplace else. There are also those computer programs that scrape the internet and analyze what people are saying to tap into some kind of global consciousness and apparently they work. The CIA declassified documents about how they frequently used remote viewers for intelligence. I have heard about tests with random number generators which I guess statistically prove that humans have the ability to predict or alter the outcome of a random number generator. It's a small percent but the test has been done so many times there is statistical significance.
I could go on. I really think there is some kind of "paranormal" plane on which we are connected to something or even each other. I like Avatar because it sort of shows that whole planet as one interconnected being.
I had some other points but I lost them :(
Thus is there a problem with individuality? I think people are generally not very loyal. People seem very quick to abandon one another or things. It seems to me like the pied piper plays his tune and everyone follows from one thing to the next. Like people don’t even stop to think about the world as a whole or even what is just and good. They don’t give a **** as long as they can be distracted and as long as they don't have to think hard they don’t have to feel bad or change. It's like fish in a school that just follow one another. So I think people are not individuals in a different sense. But If you take it in the sense that we are all connected by some unknown energy or plane I think we can still be individuals. I think the problem with individuality come from a normal sense not a paranormal one.
