Question: I'm thinking about making a hydro-generator myself?
( Back )
Answer #1:
The length of the wire and size of the magnet creates the electricity fundamentally, how you monkey the thought is up to you.Answer #2:
You need to detail exactly what this "hydro-generator" is. The words mean generator of water. But you can't get energy with no energy input, that is yet another perpetual motion machine and cannot work.
Doesn't matter what the sizes of the magnets and coils are, you still can't get power out with no power input.

Answer #3:
First, I think what your refering to is a hydro-electric plant. You need a build a "dam" first. A wall or container to let the water weight create the pressure you need to drive the turbine.
The higher the voltage the more efficient the system will be. Use the smallest wire you can handle safely when building the generator. The more powerful the magnet the better, but size isn't necessarily a factor. N45 magnets are very powerful, and N50 are even more so, but more expensive as well.
You will need a small pump to recycle the water into a closed loop. To make a system such as this over 100% efficient (over unity) would be extremely difficult due to it's size.
